Hey, everyone! Happy August! Things have been both crazy and slow around here because adult life remains incredibly weird. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m looking forward to getting back to full steam now that this stupid heat is finally moving on. We’ve got some pretty exciting stuff on the docket for these coming months, so this time around I’ll be doing a 2-for-1 plotting post so we can all strategize as far in advance as possible.
Also, just a final reminder that items from the Interdimensional Flea Market will no longer be available for purchase after August, so please get those purchases in!
Alright, there’s a lot of ground to cover, so without further ado, let’s get into it!
Which also means our autumn TDM is right around the corner. Pokemon types will be changing--- September, October, and November will feature Ghost, Dark, Flying, Electric, and Poison type Pokemon available for befriending! As usual, our spooky suggestion box is open for TDM prompt ideas, or just inspo! What’s your favorite thing to do outdoors in the fall? What’s the best Halloween decoration display you’ve ever seen? What’s a story, image, or piece of media that freaked you out lately? We love your input!
And of course we’ll have plenty of our own Halloween tricks and Autumnal treats in store! And of course, as with the other goddesses, Celestine will be here to visit during the TDM. Stay tuned for surprises!
Mendel, the Prince of Fools, was the first demon royal to perish due to Aster’s machination, as well as the one to reveal Dahlia’s true nature as his niece. This wicked jester held domain over madness, lies, and cruel trickery, and while he did not survive the infamous gala, one of his court members did. A face-changing theatrical puppet called Seemingly, whose voice, personality, and gender swap with their faces, remains at large--- and they have a bone to pick with all of you. Especially you, Jonathan Sims.
An elaborate music box is placed in the town square, playing a tune and ticking away. At each week-long interval, a new mask slots into place on the front, representing one of Seemingly’s four faces. Each week, there will be a new affliction making havoc on Marrow Isle--- and a new opportunity to help end the nightmare. Four pairs/groups will be selected to brave the danger and collect one of the keys to unlock the music box, whether on purpose or by happenstance. Efforts to unlock the music box are being led by Jon Sims, who has a long-standing beef with Seemingly and is eager to see them defeated at long last.
The structure of this event is such that it expands and changes each week, representing four separate mini events that make up the larger one, then finally a last push by Jon to take Seemingly down directly once the music box that’s shielding them is opened. The event will launch on August 9th--- but only with the text for the first week! It will update each Saturday evening with the next week’s events.
We’d like to keep as much of the specifics of the event a surprise as possible, but we can tell you up front that each week will feature a new (super)natural disaster with terrifying side effects!
Here’s a brief sneak peek:
Burning Wrath - based on Seemingly’s Wrath face, an intense heatwave that can reach lethal heights and has strange effects on exposed bodies.
Twisting Wind - based on Seemingly’s Twist face, galeforce winds howl through the town, whispering memories, regrets, temptations, and fears… and possibly taking parts of your house along.
Gleeful Tidings - based on Seemingly’s Glee mask, flash floods rip through town from the Paring River down to Tawny Beach, with water so dark that it’s hard to tell what tricks hide underneath.
Hollow Chill - based on Seemingly’s Hollow mask, a cold snap that kills the summer heat with a miniature winter, freezing over all that wet ground, and plenty more besides.
All of these will have opt-outs of some variety, so feel free to sit out parts of the event that aren’t to your taste or handwave whatever you need to in order to manage your thread load. Anyone can sign up to be a part of the teams acquiring keys, but please refrain from volunteering if you don’t believe you could be expected to complete the thread before the start of the next event (Sept 20). I’m going to be working hard to make sure that my plot-vital threads are done before then, too!

CURRENT METAPLOT
As the five archfey of this world make proper contact for the very first time, we meet not only Elsie’s fairy father in earnest, but also his peers, and learn a bit more about the incredible world of fairies--- whimsical, dangerous, and diverse. Queen Niamh of the Golden Sunspots, angelic bird-fae and celestial creatures who deal in dreams and desire--- often with wicked loopholes.
King Griswold of the Green Willows, classic forest fairies and tree spirits who represent the beauty and brutality of nature without remorse.
Queen Meriadne of the Indigo Scales, a host of naiads, sirens, selkies, and other water fae who sing the praises of the ever-changing fluidity of life.
Regent Copricus of the Teal Rain, myconids and rain spirits who rejoice in the rot and decay of all things--- and the renewed life which comes after.
And King Olwylder of the Red Butterflies, flower and insect fae who celebrate the liberating anarchy of a life unbound, finding joy in the chaos of the natural world.
Their relevance to the world will carry over to Emerald Crown, so don’t feel like there’s a whole new mystery being unveiled at the last minute, but knowing a bit more about the basis for Elsie’s lineage will certainly be helpful for events to come!
Additionally, this month it was OOCly revealed that the true identity of Nyarlathotep is Neil West in our Discord server! Hopefully that allows players to make decisions about how they want to interact with him during the final leg of the game. Do bear in mind that characters do not know this--- please use this metaknowledge appropriately! This reveal was to help players make mischief for themselves later, not give them a leg up in uncovering the mystery, so please don’t info-mod! Thank you, and have fun!

- for the Seemingly plot, he’s going to be all over the place helping all that he can no matter the danger. that’s just what he Does. And he has a gogoat, Connor, to help him. Especially during the cold snap, since Mortanne’s boon means he’s immune to cold and all that Winter brings. while even full immunity won’t make him impervious to demon workings, he’ll sure be able to move around a lot more than some.
- for Guest Appearances, this is going to be really big for him: his +1 is going to be Number 2 from The Prisoner, played by the wonderful Meghan. This is the man that tortured him and his friends for five years and the source of so, so, so many of his problems. Everyone he knows is gonna get to see in person just what effect this guy has on our priest for Real (read: BAD). And if you want a slice of that, PLEASE hmu.
for Phil:
- regrettably, I haven’t been up to much with him; a lot of his very crucial CR has dropped and I still need to get back into the swing of why I picked him up in the first place.
- However, he’s still the island’s preeminent weatherman, and will be heavily on report for the entire duration of Seemingly’s event. He’s probably going to need assistance to keep the radio running with Melanie King, especially as the station comes under physical peril from the weather. Or perhaps you just want to check in with your friend who is reporting from the midst of grave peril and won’t leave, because They Have A Duty.
- for Guest Appearances, I genuinely don’t think I have anyone I can bring for him that isn’t just Ned again. Most of his castmates barely know him and Rita would just hurt in ways I don’t want to play out. But if you want me anywhere, lmk. :-)

🎸Alex
Alex is, of course, my newest. She has empathy powers. These powers might come in handy for finding people who might be trapped out of easy sight during the disasters, because she'll be able to sense their fear and even see better in dark spaces because the light the emotional auras cast is a tangible thing to her. She is a very normal human being besides this, though, so she'd need someone helping her to really utilise this and might get into trouble just trying to go about her day.
For Guest Appearances, her brother Gabe will be coming, played by Connor! Gabe died the same day she and he finally reunited, so this is going to be bittersweet, but he's got all the sibling stuff to say about her no doubt.
👻Melanie
During August, Melanie will be actively reporting on events going down with Phil Connors via the radio station and likely out and about when they're forced to take shelter elsewhere! So either you can come help out or come see her whilst she refuses to actually stop working.
For Guest Appearances, her girlfriend Georgie Barker will be here, played by Rose! Georgie is basically the only main cast member of TMA that we haven't had in town at some point, lmao, and she knows Jon just as well as she knows Melanie.
🌼Daisy
Daisy, as always, is a tank, and though things will start to overwhelm her with time, she'll generally be able to push through it better than most. In practice this mostly means she'll try and check on people she cares about. More details probably to come when we know what the details are.
For Guest Appearances, there's going to be a small child here. Namely, 10ish year old Alice Tonner, aka Daisy before she became Daisy. She's kind of a brat, but the kind of brat who's very good at pretending to be well behaved—her dad's made her do fancy events before. Daisy might have a small existential crisis, don't worry about it (maybe worry about it a little).
💾Alice
Alice is so not built for this, lmao. This means that, as has become a recurrent thing for her during big townwide disasters, she will probably try and hold down the fort at Town Hall during most of the disasters. She will not handle the heat well at all and the cold not much better. She is a normal human and she is British. We suck at mundane heatwaves, let alone evil monster heat waves.
She's also possibly going to be attacked by Seemingly for her involvement in Mendel's downfall, so we'll see how that goes and if she needs an assist.
For Guest Appearances, Alice's frenemy Gwendolyn Bouchard is going to turn up being played by Harvey! Alice isn't going to understand why anyone would think she wants to see Gwen, but you'll get a different angle on Alice from Gwen than you will from anyone else. And on top of that, I'll be playing Celia Ripley for Samama Khalid, his sort-of-girlfriend who was gonna push him through a crack in reality as a sacrifice so she could stay in her new universe! Her baby is also here. The baby is why she did the sacrifice. It's complicated.
🔪CT
CT will, as always, be in Work Mode, but she doesn't have a lot of advantages for this and will probably need assistance at various points. She'll make sure the Constables office is a safe place for people to go and then might throw her hat in the ring to try and help find the keys. She has the Focus from the raffle win, so she'll be keeping that on her to help out, with details to come once we see how things are going to work.
For Guest Appearances, the option I'm sure of is an OC Freelancer of mine: Agent Virginia, a weathered old military woman who was CT's squad leader before she moved up to Carolina's squad. She's mute and has to sign or write, due to an injury. She's a much more measured presence, compared to, say, South from last year.
I'm weighing up a second for her, for which I'd love any input her CR might have. The options are as follow: 1) South Dakota 2: Electric Boogaloo, aka the angry tall blonde who's pissed at CT for defecting, 2) Needles, who technically appeared last time but didn't have any threads, the contact who caused her death by not leaving (played by Neil in a performance at the opera), 3) CT's long-dead brother, Keaton, or 4) another OC Freelancer, Massachusetts, who CT blames herself for the death of because she asked zir to help her with her investigation. If there's no one that particularly grabs anyone, I'll just decide if I do a second closer to the time.
🩰Gwen
Gwen is going to be in hero mode, trying to help out as much as she can. The heat and ice may be a problem for her because it'll mess with her web fluid, but the wind probably won't be able to dislodge her from something once she's stuck to it (though she's definitely got regrets for it to play on!) and she's good for yanking people out of trouble. She'll probably focus on the area around the dormitory most, but she'll be out and about sometimes.
For Guest Appearances, I'm currently not sure! I covered the ground I wanted to with George and her Peter last time, but if anyone feels up to playing one of the other Spiders from the movie (namely Miguel, Peter B, Jess, Hobie etc) I'd be very open to it. I'll keep spitballing until we get to the event.
💉Margaret
Margaret will be doing triage as she considers her duty as a nurse, assumedly with Hawk's help, and will take any other medical professional's help too. Of course she is also a totally normal human so she'll need some help at various points, and the whispers might fuck her up a bit because she hasn't dealt with a single horrible thing that's happened to her since she got here
because I've been horribly inconsistent with her, sorry.For Guest Appearances, I'm going to at least have her father, Colonel Alwin Houlihan, turn up. Which will mean people seeing a side of Margaret that's different from usual as she *really* tries to make him proud despite being in an even worse position to do so than she would be back at home. He's that kind of army dad who doesn't express himself at all to her detriment. Might consider one of the one-off friends from the show too, but I'm gonna say it'll probably just be the colonel.
Obviously a lot of the August stuff will adapt as we get more info and I'm possibly playing another ghost or two for other folks (I just need canon review). In general, I would love to get a bit more back into the swing of things as I've definitely been doing only a few things with a few characters recently. Alex needs new CR because she's new, and I'd love to play more with her Empathy. Melanie needs new stuff going because she still hasn't got much CR after months in town and I want to do more with her. Margaret's the same, I've dropped the ball on her and would love to get more going.
The rest are all pretty established but I've not done as much as I'd have liked, so I'm opening my arms to everyone.

CT: Crichton would be the first to throw in to give CT backup during natural disaster stuff. He's got a lot of relevant experience and knowledge for surviving natural disasters and he's going to be eager to help in the hunt for those keys.
I don't have any strong votes for who her +1 would be, he'd be fun to throw at any of them.
Gwen: Papa Crichton will insist she check in with him regularly so he knows she's staying safe out there (but he would ever ask her not to go do her hero thing.)

Magne, Bart, Daisuke, and Samuel! (with bonus Runt)
Magne Hikiishi: Her life is, as always, dominated by taking care of her business, the brothel Velvet, Ambrosia, and Silk, and the people that she has employed there, PC and NPC alike. She has an ongoing project to expand it out a little bit further to include a basement-level fight club to keep both herself, and anyone that might want to keep their skills sharp, on their toes. These are things that can be easily worked in with whatever else she's into in the moment. Her Mabosstiff, Genkuma, is of course hanging around all the while.
For Seemingly's Revenge, Magne will be removing the age gate on the front doors of the Velvet to allow for shelter-in-place protocols to go into effect, even offering her half-finished basement for the worst of it. Her toplvl for this will offer opportunities to meet her, to check in, or else to mingle amongst one-another (think of it as something of an opportunity for a less chaotic way to participate in the event itself that will update week to week along with the prompts).
For Ghosts of the Past, she will most likely just be around as emotional support for her friends and family encountering some/more of their own ghosts, unless someone is able to pull a Twice out of nowhere. I personally debated on writing him, but with as many characters as I'm already juggling, I didn't want to push it. im gomen.
Bart Torgal: He's been pretty quiet for a long while now, keeping to himself or a very small circle of friends. He is rather lovelorn, lonely, but still determined to keep a stiff upper lip around the people that care about him. His greenhouse has been finished for months, and he's doing a good job making sure that it flourishes. Sometimes even with help from his neighbors! More than a few have gotten seeds from him lately. They may have been delivered by his Bayleef, Dou Zhai.
For Seemingly's Revenge, he is back in the saddle as first aid and triage, dispensing treatments for sunburn, sunstroke, heat exhaustion, injuries, hypothermia, etc as needed. He will be working with Watson's Clinic as always, or else offering assistance at his home.
For Ghosts of the Past, the dreaded Paul Torgal is coming to express how disappointed he is in his son being little more than a common gardener letting himself be distracted by helping people (eugh). He is going to need moral support.
Daisuke Kawashima: He's been doing as much as he can as a Bizzyboy, and he's finding he really enjoys the job! He needs to meet and get to know his fellow Bizzyboys, especially with what's coming down the pipeline. Also, if you want someone to vaguely flirt with you, he's totally your guy for the job. Like, totally. His Flabebe has evolved by now and is bopping around as a pink (Red Flower) Floette.
For Seemingly's Revenge, Daisuke will be working with the Bizzyboys, but at a point that seems appropriate in his efforts to do so, will be taking some lethal damage. I don't know if it will be in a stupid fashion, or some self-sacrificing deed, but he is gonna die at some point. Just let me know if you're interested in being involved in that somehow, and we can plot a little bit from there based on what little we know.
Samuel of Kuttenberg: This man is more or less brand new to the village, along with his brother Henry of Skalitz. He has never in his life heard of climate change, doesn't know what a Pokemon is, but he and his Growlithe Ser Doodle are doing their best to adjust here, even while he mean-mugs just about anyone that looks at him, just by dint of never really smiling much in general. It's nothing personal.
For Seemingly's Revenge, he is going to basically be at the mercy of the elements. He can be wrangled into one of the teams looking for keys to end this whole [vague gestures] Problem. Otherwise, he will be keeping his ear to the ground and attempting to help where he can, as he has always done.
Runt The Wayne Johnson: The Wayne larva that John Crichton has been raising has pupated, and has wandered back into the village. He doesn't really have a handle on speaking words yet, and doesn't quite understand how his Gestures work, but he is intelligent, energetic, and looking to find and connect with everyone that met him as a weird cat-bug-toddler-creature. I'm intending for his Gestures to sort of manifest as the need arises.
For Seemingly's Revenge, he will be everywhere he can be, wordlessly offering assistance. This is a malleable little guy with a funky moon head and a lot of love for this village that's raised him. If you want a Yellow Clay Moon Man you will have him.

Bart: Max will 100% be there for the emotional support and to tell Paul Torgal how wrong he is and that he'd banned from the bakery for his crimes.
I also like to imagine Max is putting in some personal requests for plants to grown in the greenhouse.
Samuel: Erik might make a special trip to check on him during the disasters and maybe we could even play with him needing a rescue, idk. I'm enjoying building their CR.
Runt: You know Crichton is going to have that nervous dad energy, but he's trying very hard not to hover. Crichton will have his own duties to deal with during the disaster, but he's expecting regular check-ins young man.

No real plans for her as Art has been busy with handling most of the setup for our move so he's been a busy bee. I imagine Wiz and Sorc have been chugging away at getting the Arcanium set up. (Bonehilda has been an immense help keeping the place tidy.) No one's coming for the Guest Appearance for her.

He's not going to be happy about the weather changes, that's for sure. (Idk if he's immune to water? But the biomes will be similar to what he's used to in the Underground.) Depending on how busy I'll be in the next few weeks will determine whether I bring in people for the Guest Appearance event. I'm thinking either Napstablook and/or Burgerpants. I'm more than happy to have someone else take control of the characters that know him though! (Frisk, Sans, Shyren, etc)
I'm looking to have him get in touch with the people who run the Pumpkin Hollow Gazette and slowly but surely begin regular performances at The Empty Pocket through the next month or so.

Phoenix | Nimona, Gaeta, and Radar
Nimona is going to handwavily be around during Seemingly's Revenge, but I don't plan to do anything significant with her. Alas, I'm going through one of those slumps where I have a tough time finding her voice, so hopefully giving myself a month off will help me get back in the saddle in time for Guest Appearances... because her guest will be Gloreth, former childhood BFF turned First Knight of the Realm. Even if you don't know Nimona, Gloreth will have plenty to say about monsters -- mostly, er, how they all deserve to die -- if you think that'd be an interesting conversation.
Gaeta is going to die during the heatwave! That is the extent of my plans so far, lol. It's just been a while since he notched another death. For the rest of it, he's probably just going to hunker down as best he can, try to help to the best of his limited ability, and maybe have a teeny tiny breakdown during the cold snap. More specific plotting will happen once the event posts start going up.
For Guest Appearances: THIS IS VERY TENTATIVE. But. I'm going to try and snag an old RP buddy to play either Louis Hoshi, Gaeta's ex whom he broke up with to try and keep him safe from the mutiny, or Laura Roslin, the President of the Colonies. Said RP buddy has a lot of RL stuff going on these days, so it might not pan out -- but if it does, one of them will be around to offer another perspective on both Gaeta and the mutiny.
Radar also hasn't notched a death in a while, so he's going to die during the windstorm! Most of his focus is going to be on keeping the animals at Baker Ranch safe, but he'll also be scampering around in true Radar fashion, acting as a gopher for anyone who might need supplies, info, etc etc. (He's also going to be quietly devastated that all the bad weather destroyed his little farm plot he was just starting to get off the ground.) Like Gaeta, I'll probably do more specific plotting once more details re: each mini-event go up.
He won't have a guest for Guest Appearances, since most of his favorite people are already here in PH, but he'll happily chat with anybody else's guests who may pop up. Want him to say hi to a figure from your past? We'll make it happen! Overall I'm just kinda vibing with him for the next two months, tbh.

🔍 Dr. Coldwood
While he's trying to help as much as he can, Dr. Coldwood will be scarce during Seemingly's Revenge, locking down in the Bluff's lighthouse and trying to keep it lit during the storms. During the flash floods, the lighthouse will serve as the opt-out! He'll just politely ask anyone staying in his home to please refrain from going down to the basement, thank you.
During Guest Appearances, I'm contemplating either having his late daughter or bosun from his sailing days make an appearance, if that's of interest to people! The bosun specifically could be a good way to get some sailing stories from other places, if anyone would like their characters to get hooks to check out certain locations in the sequel game. :]
🦊 Mr. Pennyburrow
Similarly to Dr. Coldwood, Teddy's going to be locking in, trying to make the Dormitory House a shelter for anyone who might need it, as well as trying to wrangle the children. I'm not sure if I'll do a top-level for him, but if you would have characters who would want to shelter and support the Dormitory House locking down in the worst of the weather, feel free to use that as a setting for your own prompts!
For Guest Appearances, Teddy will not be having any plus-ones. :) He might show up to let loose for a while, though, and potentially make a little bit of a fool of himself in the process!

Esmeray's been in a quiet period, down in Paradesium, but in spite of the dangers, it may be worth sheltering down there. If anyone needs her for a thread involving sheltering from some of the weather in the caverns, let me know!

Jon's my big one here, as he's got some longstanding tension with Seemingly that's finally going to get resolved!
With his ability to See via his connection (though looser than it was back in his own world) to the Eye, he's able to see the keys to the music box. The downside to this is that he's not cut out for survival through inclement weather that wants him dead whatsoever - the last time he'd dealt with anything like that, it avoided killing him, due to being the Eye's Special Princess.
I'm going to have threads ready for him to find the first key, and for him to be there for the last, so he can face off with Seemingly and bring the Court of Fools to a close at last! For the two he's involved in, he'll need all the help he can get, and with the two he isn't involved in, he'll be writing out detailed locations for search-parties from Town Hall that are better equipped than he to go after them. I'll be making a separate plotting comment below this post so folks interested can plot together for finding the other two!
For Guest Appearances, I'm torn between having a younger version of himself appear, or Jurgen Leitner make an appearance. (Maybe both, with careful balancing for threadload?) Either way, he's not going to be pleased about it!
📖 Basira
For Seemingly's Revenge, Basira's going to be doing what she does best - rushing in without a plan to try to help people. She's quick on her feet and has a great intuition about things, but that doesn't stop her from getting in over her head when things change unexpectedly. I'd love to have her lending a hand with some rescues of new or old CR, or getting rescued herself!
For Guest Appearances, she doesn't actually have anyone who would be a plus-one that isn't getting invited by someone else or already here LOL so I'm just gonna be working with her not having one, for the sheer fact that they're already present!
🌟 Hector

The Bizzyboys are here to save the day, or at least try to, during Seemingly's Revenge! Hector, and occasionally swapping to Inspekta to get some resistance to the elements, is no exception to that. He'll be out in much of the thick of it, trying to help - and possibly getting himself killed a couple times in the process.
When the floods roll in, however, he won't particularly know what to do. Drain, the vertical city he grew up in, was plagued by floods that would have friends and neighbors go missing, swept away within seconds, wrecking homes and infrastructure - so while he wants to help, he'll be prone to freezing up. I haven't quite decided how that'll go, but I'm gonna get his ass with it! >:D
During Guest Appearances, Hector's guests will be joined by some of the members of the pantheon he used to be a part of, specifically Cobigail, God of the Harvest, and Click Clack, God of Teamwork. Considering his time with the gods didn't end particularly well, he's going to be awkward about it!
🪓 Susie
Susie's caught in a rock and a hard place during Seemingly's Revenge. She's a hero of a prophecy, she feels like she the rest of her group should be able to do something, so she'll likely get restless during the mess, and try to do something to help. I'm still not 100% on what that's going to be, so I'm up for plotting on that!
For Guest Appearances, Susie's going to have Gerson Boom, and potentially Mr. Ant Tenna! (We've got one on the TDM, so if they wind up staying, he'll probably be swapped out for someone else, or we'll just keep it at Gerson. Gonna play that one by ear!) She's also, per Dahlia's decision, going to have her birthday belatedly celebrated during the gala, and isn't going to know what to do with herself, being acknowledged and welcomed in by a full community. It'll be a lot for her, but hopefully in a fun way that helps her open up a little more!
some of this is pretty vague so sorry about that! i'm trying to keep flexible so i can hopefully get some new CR with some of my characters, and adapt to plans other people have :D i'm also 100% down to play ghosts for some people (and am already playing a couple!), so if anybody needs a ghost for something we're both familiar with, feel free to let me know!

Connor | Ellen Ripley and Agent Carolina
Okay, so—
Carolina:
I'll start with her, who I have the biggest ideas for. The Twisting Winds are going to temporarily displace her from her home by destroying a large portion of it. This will be part of some character building I'm doing around the idea of having a 'home' continually taken from you. During July's event, as an act from Niamh, Carolina is granted her biggest desire; love from her father, which materializes as a visit to her childhood home. (I'll be putting this toplevel up soon, if anyone's interested!) The cost of this; CR who forgets her for a timespan equal to what she spends in Niahm's illusion.
She's going to come out of this experience feeling terrible. She gave up something important for a 'home' that doesn't exist anymore (albeit without realizing), and so losing her house to the winds will feel like just punishment. But she's stubborn, and she'll to push herself against the elements for as long as possible before finally caving in to needing help/asking for a place to camp. This might include her getting injured or coming close to dying. Could be a good CR building opportunity for anyone interested?
In the midst of this, she'll be helping wherever she can, so if you're looking for a partner to a specific task, consider bringing her along!
As for guest appearances, I'm torn between bringing back the Director (evil nasty stupid dad), Allison Church (cool army mom), one of the Freelancers she was closest to (York?? Maine??) orrr, Catherine Church, aka baby Carolina, because oh my god she deserves a hug.
Ellen Ripley:
I only have vague plans for her. Carolina's tags will be priority, since I don't want to bite off more than I can chew given the schedule, but Ripley will be around. She'll take shelter in the mines during the first two weeks, and be flooded out during the third. Which could be fun to write out, if anyone's interested?
I'm not sure if I'll be giving her a guest appearance. If I did, it'd either be Captain Dallas or Ash!

SQQ, Pyotr, Patty, and Ralsei
Shen Qingqiu -- he'll be helping Phil and Melanie out in August, mostly by running messages that can't be delivered over sending stone and making sure they don't run out of food or water in the weather tower. His cultivation will give him some resistance to the weather effects, but expect him to work himself too hard and get into trouble anyway. In the final week he will also protect Jon while he kills Seemingly, hopefully for good! Begone, clown!
In September either Mira or I are considering playing SQQ's canon love interest, Luo Binghe; let me know if you're interested in a thread with the Boy Terror himself XD
Pyotr Stamatin -- I'll be playing Maria Kaina during the September event, so feel free to drop by! Her primary interest is in convincing Pyotr to return to Pathologic with her (which will not be happening, heh) but it'd do her good to meet some people who are her equals or superiors in power.

During the disasters, Max will be doing what he can to spread supplies. He has been building a stockpile of food for this very event. I'm considering having him open his bakery/cafe as a shelter, but if enough other shelters get set up, he may just locate to one of them to help keep operations running smooth. It's been a minute since he's been in mortal peril and I think the winds, of all of them, could be the thing that really gets him, so I'm considering having him get hurt/killed and or having part of his new cafe take some damage. Nothing firm yet.
For ghosts of the past, I think I might have his father come as his +1 (maybe Jenny can come back too?) Happy family reunions sound nice.
Erik Osborne
Erik is bound to get overconfident in all these weather events because he considers himself pretty durable and untouchable, so I think it might be fun to have him get in over his head somehow and need some help. Right now, the heat might be the most challenging to him because sunburn can still get him even if it usually doesn't linger long. Maybe this time will be different. Basically, I'm wide open with him in August.
For ghosts of the past, I think he won't have anyone show up for him this time so I can keep my plate open for tagging out to others.
John Crichton
Crichton will consider it part of his duty as an enforcer to get out there and try to help find the keys in these disasters and also save people where needed. He's open for rescue duty. He will be armed with his trusty water jetpack (which might get him into some trouble in the winds, and also in the sudden freeze, oops.)
For ghosts of the past, Lemon might bring Wayne from Sail by to catch up with him and lay a little more knowledge about Waynes down on him. If not that, then I MAY consider dragging Scorpius in if I'm feeling up to it.

Fever's main idea for August will be doing what she can for search and rescue, or getting resources where they need to be, since she won't want to sit still for too long. For the heatwave and the cold snap, she has clothing that offers resistance, so she'll be able to stay out a little longer before having to break. I'm also thinking about offering her up to help with the keys, since she'd love to push back against Seemingly's threat to the isle. Consider me open to ideas, though I'll definitely have more concrete ones each week to play with.
Also for this event, her boon from Mortanne is on the table to play with, since it seems like we're raring for death/near-death experiences. Specifically, the boon is that she can temporarily anchor someone's soul to their body to prevent them from dying. This doesn't fix the problem that is causing the dying and that still has to be helped, but she can keep them stable long enough for help to happen. I'd love for her to be able to use it to ferry someone out of danger, or coordinate with the medics to get someone to help who needs it.
For September my plans are pretty open, apart from Fever going to Dahlia's birthday gala in hopes that this year goes better than last. Brittany's bringing in Karlach, one of her companions for Guest Appearances, so she'll be overjoyed to see her again and to give her a fun weekend. Consider her ready and willing to talk to other visitors, whoever they might be, and I'm debating on if there'll be a second visitor this time around. Alternatively, if you know a BG3 player I can bat my lashes at, I will.
Beyond that, I will be resuming funny monkey duties and bringing out Grujaja again for Capochin's Guest Appearances, so if you want to talk to the man's socially awkward son, he'll be here!

freaked tf outSO excited to be here!! and this is my second time writing this comment up from scratch because the tab reloaded on me the first time so let's see if I can actually make a post before I lose it again haha yay!! hooray!!!!anyway, for August -- boy that sure is a lot of nasty weather incoming, huh. Tenna here should be able to cope well enough with the heat and wind (although maybe anyone nearby won't be able to cope with him so much during the heat wave; he runs pretty hot as it is)... however, as a dubiously magical entity comprised mainly of metal and wires and electrical parts, he is EXCEPTIONALLY poorly equipped to deal with lots and lots and lots of water all around. like, getting some water into his exterior casing and/or limb joints won't be too big a deal, but if he should become so waterlogged as to risk shorting out the extremely high-voltage components in his CRT head...?! not only will that be lights out for him, but it could also mean a serious risk of electrocution for anyone who happens to be nearby, or maybe tries touching or moving him around after the fact?!? just a thought...!!
additionally, if he recovers from that in time to catch the following Weather Anomaly, it must needs be noted that he is ALSO poorly equipped to deal with extreme cold temperatures!! sure, he has built-in heating elements to keep his vacuum tube functioning normally, but if it gets SO cold that those heating elements can't keep up... well, who knows!!! won't somebody please get him a coat. pleas
looking ahead to September... MIKE!!! I'm not fully decided yet as to exactly what (or how many) manifestation(s) of Mike will be present for this event, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Tenna WILL have his dearest production assistant Mike on hand for his attendance at the function. even if you can't see him, he will DEFINITELY be there. You will Know. (this is me apologizing in advance for that. sorry.)

Dahlia Leeds could definitely make for some interesting CR for him--- she's the rich lady Kris mentioned and she has many, many problems. She's also the plot-guaranteed opt-out for the weather so he could definitely get rescued and brought to her place during the flood/cold timeframe. What's a little electrocution between new friends? :)
I also have a pair of Magnus Archives characters who have Embodiment of Fear(tm) things going on--- one whose whole thing is eyes/being watched/being seen/etc. (Gerry) and one who is the embodiment of the fear of loneliness and abandonment (Martin) that could be interesting... I have nothing specific, just general "yes this" feelings lmao.
And I am having visions of Kris huddling close to their favorite toasty CRT for warmth... cute...

HOWEVER v open to event stuff in general. until we have more deets, i'm just putting a vague plot-with-me out here but kabru will absolutely be trying to help people anywhere he can. the special effects in twisting wind in particular are intriguing me, and for gleeful tidings, kabru does know how to cast waterwalk so he can absolutely save a few people from drowning. and then they can fight whatever's under the water while walking on the surface of it c: (or well. probably falling over on the surface of it bc waterwalking does not save you from the water moving underneath you. but at least you won't drown!)

August - Being that he's equipped with powerful magic, I feel like Neil's black sand will be useful for helping people get out of Situations and for maybe starting to put it into people's heads that he might have something weird going on with him. He'll probably also be helping Jon figure out how to deal with all this and kick Seemingly's ass, so if anyone on Team Jon wants to touch base with Neil also, that'd be fun!
September - Neil is not going to be attending Dahlia's birthday party, as usual. This was discussed on the Discord server, but Dahlia is going to be honoring the birthdays of everyone with an August birthday that got TOTALLY overshadowed by Seemingly's Revenge. This, plus "not getting a visitor," will be an excellent excuse for Neil to absolutely crash out on an open post in early October about how much everyone loves the woman that he claims ruined his life. Hooray, drama!

August - My plan was to use Martin's lonely powers as a wildly undesirable opt-out. How would you like to have YOUR guy wander through a terrifying maze of terror and isolation with Martin making random appearances? It can be a little tricky to make this interesting since it relies on evoking feelings of loneliness, but we could definitely go on a really spooky and interesting journey about it.
September - Martin will be here with Jon! His visitor is... no one. :) Deeply heinous of me. Aside from a scene with Elias Bouchard, I don't have any specific plans.

August - Nothing specific yet, I might tag out or opt out entirely with Sally unless people want her for something.
September - This is gonna be the big one for Salamander. She's going to be visited by Anton Verloc, the biological father of her daughter, who has no idea that Gwen even exists. Hint: he sucks a lot. Feel free to attack him with sticks.

August - Capochin will be helping Hector lead the Bizzyboy charge to help people in need! However, I'm particularly interested in the floods for him. Drainfolk have a lot of trauma surrounding flooding, but are also particularly adept at dealing with them. I definitely want to make use of these things. I'll probably have something going on with Hector and/or Patty here, but please don't hesitate to offer me more, I'll slurp that up like pasketti.
September - Capochin will be visited by his darling son Grujaja, played by Mira! I will probably also keep things otherwise pretty chill with Capochin here, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to stuff <3

August - Rain, sleet, snow, or hail, we deliver what you mail! Pokey will be continuing their duties as normal. I have a near-death incident planned with Mira during the flood incident to make use of Fever's new goddess boon but certainly foresee them getting into more trouble and maybe even dying several times.
September - Pokey's visitor will be their idol, the previous Godpoke, King! I would love for her to talk to other members of Godpoke's CR, she's going to be so excited. Guil has also expressed interest in playing another visitor for them, Thespius Green, which should also be good fun :3

August - The part of this I have a lot of interest in is the cold. Some of this is going to be based in some mod knowledge so I can't talk about it just yet, but. I have thoughts.
September - Kris' visitors are going to be their brother Asriel Dreemurr (played by Harvey) and their old friend December "Dess" Holiday (a non-canon portrayal based on environmental storytelling, done by me!) I also have some goofy plans to have them run around with aged-down Daisy, Jon, and Carolina like a flock of ducklings for a while.

AUGUST PLANS
Sephiroth & Snakes
For September, I was leaning towards bringing Genesis Rhapsodos for Sephiroth. Is that something anyone familiar with the canon would be interested in? (For those unfamiliar, he is a very theatrical swordsman who quotes his favorite epic poem all the time and is bitterly jealous of poor Seph for being Shinra's hero when Genesis feels it should have been him. He would love showing up at a fancy party.)
For Snakes, I'm less sure what to do. The only people who could come in from his canon point would traumatize him even more, which I'm not sure I want to do. The only one who wouldn't I'm not sure I'm confident enough to write without a canon review, but that would be Beau Maverick from the Maverick TV show. (I love crossing things over.) He doesn't get anyone else nice to him until much later in his "canon" (re: what I've written for him). I can't remember if it's allowed to bring in people from someone's future. If it is, there's of course the added problem that he won't know them yet, lol. But on the other hand, it might give him comfort to know some of what's in store later.

early in the week, i'm thinking of having noelle help out with food and resource distribution. as a reindeer monster, she is more resistant to the cold than the average human, and after having a hard time with the rain and the wind, noelle will badly want to be useful. i'm up for less-fraught encounters or first meetings with noelle where she brings you food, shovels your walkway, etc. also happy to handwave these, because...
...later in the week, noelle will be frozen in ice and replaced by her double, who is modeled after the noelle that appears in deltarune's weird route. (warning for deltarune spoilers in the link!) weird noelle will attempt to imitate the real noelle by keeping up with her shoveling and delivery chores, but when she gets close enough to a person, she will mercilessly try to freeze them. i'm hoping for her to freeze a good chunk of people, either pcs or npc townsfolk, so let me know if you'd like your character to get frozen! up to you if weird noelle's freezing actually kills your character - that's her goal, but doesn't have to be a guarantee oocly.
