February Event + World State Update
Hello all! Just a few quick things to go over to keep everyone up to date!
General:
Because of some IC shenanigans, a few noteworthy in-game events have occurred:
- Angel and River travelled into the mysterious cave on Tawny Beach by solving its riddle--- living people must be guided to their destination by a ghost (in this case, Angel's Litwick.) At the center, they found a chamber where a copy of the Necronomicon was being kept. Disturbing it caused an earthquake.
- Vika made a deal with the demon king, Eligos, to be able to permanently destroy the Pine Devil. Its skull is hung outside Town Hall. According to Eligos, the Pine Devil's soul was conveyed to him after this deal was completed.
- Vika and Magne got into a fight that caused Vika's power core to explode. Since her power core is divinely powered by the will of Mortanne, the explosion has caused massive snow storms. Inclement weather interrupts the Aurora, so--- pros, less star monsters, cons, crazy blizzards.
- Cecil, Emery, and new arrival Mairi are working in varying capacities to combat food shortages. Emery is hunting, Cecil is making stew and employing the use of his Goddess Boon, Celestine's Everlasting Sweet Potato, and Mairi is using Druidcraft and veggie tents to try and get some things into the community garden.
February's Event, Merrymeet:
Upcoming in February, we'll have a late-month main event called Springtime Soiree which will concern a romance-themed festival to welcome in the spring, called Merrymeet. It's a garden party on the Festival Green that will feature fancy dress and an election for Flower Queen! Currently, the only nominee is Dahlia Leeds.
In order to compete for Flower Queen, any individual who presents as female (or identifies with femininity, for non-binary folks) must be nominated by another character and accept the nomination, or nominate themself and have the nomination seconded by another person. You can do so in the thread below! Then, our early month mini-event launching on February 10th will feature a ballot, which each character may use to cast one vote. When the event launches on February 24th, the Flower Queen will be declared!
The Flower Queen will be given a special, spectacularly floral outfit and be allowed to choose a courtier of any gender to be her companion and attendant (and date) for the party. She will receive a seat of honor at the head of the central table, seated among her fellow contestants and their plus ones. Her entrance to the party will be in a shower of flower petals and she will receive a number of commemorative gifts. Then she will be asked to plant the first seed of the spring season. It will be her job to crown the next Flower Queen the following year.
The Flower Queen should be someone who represents kindness, gentleness, and grace, as well as someone who has brought joy to others who deserves to have that joy reciprocated and recognized. Please consider these superlatives when voting and nominating!
